Mouse accuracy is making every right-click land on the champion you chose, not on the ground, a minion or the wrong enemy. A single misclick in a fight can walk you into the enemy team or waste a whole attack window.

What it is

A right-click does two jobs. On an enemy it orders an attack; on empty ground it orders a move. In a crowded fight the difference between those is a few pixels of mouse position, and a click that hits the ground is a move order that interrupts your attack.

There is a second cost. When you order an attack on a target that is out of range, your champion walks toward it until it is in range, then attacks. So a misclick on a far champion is not just a missed shot: it is a walk toward the enemy, often through their frontline.

The fix has two parts. The settings narrow what your cursor is allowed to select, and the habits keep the cursor on the right thing. Neither needs fast hands, only a deliberate setup and a rule for where the mouse rests.

How to do it

  1. Use Target Champions Only

The Target Champions Only hotkey makes your cursor select only champions while it is active, so clicks pass through minions and turrets. Its default is the backtick key. Hold it during fights. In the Game tab of Settings there is an option to treat it as a toggle instead of a hold, which you can turn on if you prefer pressing once.

  2. Learn what each click does

Right-click on a unit attacks it; right-click on the ground moves. The Player Attack Only Click hotkey is unbound by default and is valid only if a target is under the cursor, otherwise it does nothing. Bind it to a key your hand rests on if you want an attack command that cannot turn into a walk.

  3. Click the body, then check the target frame

Aim for the middle of the champion model, not the edge of the health bar or the space beside them. Enable Show Target Frame on attack so that the target frame opens when you issue an attack. A glance at it confirms who you are hitting.

  4. Keep the cursor near the fight

Rest the mouse close to the priority target between clicks, instead of swinging it far across the screen and back. In practice a short mouse path is both faster and less likely to overshoot onto a minion. Your mouse speed slider in Settings is worth tuning until a flick lands where you expect.

  5. Clear the space before you click

Minions and allies stand in the way and your champion is also often standing among them. When a lot of units overlap the target, use Target Champions Only or step to a spot where the target is not hidden by a body.

  6. Click once, then watch

After each attack order, let the attack happen and check the result before clicking again. Hammering clicks makes the cursor wander and produces the stray move commands that cancel attacks.

Common mistakes

  • You click a far champion you cannot reach. Your champion walks toward them instead of hitting something now. Pick a target that is already in range.
  • You click empty ground next to the target. That is a move order that cancels your attack. Aim for the model itself, or use Target Champions Only.
  • You rely on clicking through minions without Target Champions Only. A minion in front of the enemy takes the click. Hold the key while the fight is on.
  • You leave Target Champions Only on while farming. It then ignores the minions you want to last-hit. Release it when you are no longer fighting champions.
  • You flick the mouse across the screen between every shot. The cursor overshoots. Keep it near the fight.

Practice drill

  • In the Practice Tool, spawn several dummies in a line with minions in front. Using Target Champions Only, attack only the dummy at the back of your range and check that you never hit a minion. Count your misclicks over a minute.
  • In a custom game, stand in a crowd of minions beside an enemy bot and alternate clicks on the bot and on the ground. Success is hitting the bot every single time you aim at it.
