Caitlyn

Computed from 424,565 ranked Solo/Duo games collected through the Riot API · patch 26.21.
| Role | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
|---|---|---|
| ADC | 49.0% | 17.3% |
Caitlyn is banned in about 25.6% of games at this tier, one figure for the whole champion since bans happen before roles are picked. What ban rate measures.
Caitlyn's ADC win rate is 1.0 percentage points below an even 50% — Should I Dodge's win-probability model varies by about 4.8 percentage points of standard deviation from lobby to lobby across all ranks, purely from which champions get drawn, so this gap is smaller than that noise, not solid evidence the champion is unusually strong or weak right now.
Caitlyn is tracked in exactly one role at this tier scope, ADC — so there's no ambiguity below about which lane the rest of this page's per-tier, threat, and counters reporting describes.

Our Read on Caitlyn
Reading the Numbers
Few laners can out-range Caitlyn early: she has the longest base attack range of any marksman in the game, which turns the laning phase into her favorite place to fight before a single item is finished. That advantage is easy to understand and hard to play around, so opposing teams often ban her preemptively rather than solve the matchup during draft. Her win rate itself tends to land closer to even, because that early lane dominance still has to be converted into a lead -- a Caitlyn who wins lane but plays passively afterward risks handing that lead back before it ever turns into a win.
When a Teammate Locks Caitlyn
Picking Caitlyn signals a bot lane built around winning the laning phase outright: her traps and long-range headshots punish an opponent who walks up for a normal trade, so ask your support for hard peel in lane rather than an engage support who wants to dive early. Her value front-loads hard -- the sooner your team turns a strong lane into map pressure, the more that advantage is worth before enemies close the range gap with items.
When the Enemy Has Caitlyn
Facing Caitlyn means respecting a zone you can't easily contest without flash or a gap closer, since she can poke and place traps from well outside your own attack range. Look for the phase after laning ends, once itemization narrows the range gap and her traps stop deciding fights alone -- just remember her 90 Caliber Net still knocks her clear of a dive if you commit without anything to stop it first. Her early lead is real, but it isn't permanent, and a lobby with a strong Caitlyn is still worth playing if your team survives to that turning point.
