Cho'Gath is banned in about 6.7% of games at this tier, one figure for the whole champion since bans happen before roles are picked. What ban rate measures.

Cho'Gath's Jungle win rate is 2.3 percentage points above an even 50% — Should I Dodge's win-probability model varies by about 4.8 percentage points of standard deviation from lobby to lobby across all ranks, purely from which champions get drawn, so this gap is smaller than that noise, not solid evidence the champion is unusually strong or weak right now.

Cho'Gath is tracked in 3 roles at this tier scope; the per-tier, threat, and counters reporting below all use its highest-pick-rate role, Jungle — its numbers in Top (2.9% pick rate) and Mid (0.5% pick rate) stay visible in the table above but aren't carried into the rest of this page.

Our Read on Cho'Gath

Reading the Numbers

Cho'Gath is played in both the jungle and the top lane, with jungle the more common home, and his strength is tied to a snowball of a very particular kind. Feast, his ultimate, grants a permanent stack whenever it kills a unit, and each stack leaves him with more health, reach and size, so every early kill he secures feeds the later ones. Because the compounding starts in the first stretch of the game, his results split sharply depending on who wins his early skirmishes and lane. A Cho'Gath who is behind is an awkward, slow target, and one who is ahead becomes a frontliner few teams can handle comfortably. The page shows the averaged version of both.

When a Teammate Locks Cho'Gath

Locking in Cho'Gath gives your team a frontline that brings lockdown with it. Rupture lands after a delay and knocks enemies airborne before slowing them, and Feral Scream silences champions caught in its cone, which switches off casters at exactly the moment a fight begins. Ask him to follow your engage with these instead of leading it alone, because his tools reward setup. Feast also hits for true damage, so he can finish off a target that your damage dealers have already weakened.

When the Enemy Has Cho'Gath

Rupture is telegraphed. It goes off after a brief delay, so the way to beat it is to keep moving instead of standing in place and trading. The silence comes from a cone in front of him, so spacing matters for casters: stay out of its reach, or arrive behind a teammate. Feast cannot be armored against, since it deals true damage, so the best answer is to keep your health up in fights. If you become untargetable or leave his sight during the cast, it cancels without going on cooldown. Deny him cheap kills early and the late game becomes much easier.
