Nautilus

Computed from 267,439 ranked Solo/Duo games collected through the Riot API · patch 26.21.
| Role | Win Rate | Pick Rate |
|---|---|---|
| Support | 49.6% | 10.2% |
Nautilus is banned in about 15.2% of games at this tier, one figure for the whole champion since bans happen before roles are picked. What ban rate measures.
Nautilus's Support win rate is 0.4 percentage points below an even 50% — Should I Dodge's win-probability model varies by about 4.8 percentage points of standard deviation from lobby to lobby across all ranks, purely from which champions get drawn, so this gap is smaller than that noise, not solid evidence the champion is unusually strong or weak right now.
Nautilus is tracked in exactly one role at this tier scope, Support — so there's no ambiguity below about which lane the rest of this page's per-tier, threat, and counters reporting describes.

At most five champions are listed in each direction for Nautilus: the 5 that counter it here lean control-heavy, with a tight, 4-point spread — none of them stand out much from the others among them, while 5 favourable matchups round out the picture — most matchups you could actually face simply aren't covered.
Our Read on Nautilus
Reading the Numbers
Read Nautilus through his hook, because this support's entire reputation rests on it. Dredge Line is a skillshot that stuns the first enemy it strikes and drags them in while he dashes to meet them, so a well-aimed one can decide a lane by itself. Even without it his passive roots whoever he strikes with a basic attack. As a melee vanguard whose job is to start fights, his results are built on how often the hook connects. Teams that bring a damage dealer who follows up will show a different story from teams that do not.
When a Teammate Locks Nautilus
Plan around Nautilus as your lane's engage. When the hook lands, your carry has a short window while the target is stunned beside him, so a partner who waits at a safe distance will waste it. Dredge Line also catches terrain, which dashes him to that spot, so he can use it to reposition around walls. His ultimate, Depth Charge, chases a chosen champion and sets off eruptions along its path that knock enemies up, before a final eruption knocks up and stuns the champion it was chasing, which makes it a natural way to pull a teamfight together on your side.
When the Enemy Has Nautilus
Hide behind minions when you expect Dredge Line, since the anchor catches whichever enemy it reaches first, and treat every wall as a way for him to travel, because a hook that hits terrain still moves him. After a hit, his passive roots you when he lands a basic attack, so spacing from a close Nautilus matters. Depth Charge needs a target and a short wait to cast, but once it launches it erupts along its whole path, so stay away from anyone it is chasing. Spreading out in a fight limits how many people one ultimate can touch.
